Transformation
What if obstacles are actually signs helping us stay on our path? It is my hunch that obstacles are lessons in disguise and detours are a part of the path too, if we’re willing to accept them as such.
God’s timing is not our timing. In my experience, I am not exposed to more than I can handle, even if what I’m given may feel like it is crushing me, it is usually helping me letting go of what isn’t me.
There is always an invitation, but I am never stronger or smarter than God. I can’t outmaneuver or grapple the Divine. There is no outwitting because life is not a game. Life is a gift.
I am being invited to be honest with myself and my story. When I do this, I see how there are seasons where I’ve needed time to allow the new I’ve tasted to transform me. This can feel very uncomfortable because society has its own definitions of success and progress (“upward” or “forward”. We like to measure to feel some sense of control.) These definitions are associated with movement and effort. However, authenticity is effortless. Being, being “you” is effortless. Discovering “you” feels like work, but the work “you” will do will feel effortless once you are discovered.
